I spent this week collecting some gluten and corn free resources on pinterest, as well as doing some general research. I'm finding that it's difficult to collect my research on pinterest because most informational pages do not have photos. A few days ago I looked into how to get this information onto pinterest and discovered that I can use the snipping tool to take an image of the title of the website or a page header and then post a link under that. Woohoo! This is a little bit time consuming, but it allows me to use pinterest as a tool for this project as planned, and I like the image aspect of pinterest since I am collecting recipes. As far as my research goes, I've found a lot of information about what different name signify hidden gluten or corn. Since many products have gluten free labels, this part should not be too difficult. What I found out though, is that not all ingredients are necessarily listed, so for information about corn products, reading the label may not be enough. This means I will have to spend some time on the phone with manufacturers and researching on corn free forums to find products that do not have "hidden corn" in them. I have found some recipes for chocolate cake, and an awesome (seemingly) corn and (definitely) gluten free pasta. My next step will be doing more research and trying out at least one of the recipes. Hopefully my next post will contain photos of the results!
